NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
As preparations gather pace for the Republic Day Parade 2026, authorities have issued a list of items that spectators are not allowed to carry to Kartavya Path. The restrictions are part of heightened security arrangements for the national event scheduled to be held on January 26 in the national capital.
Republic Day is celebrated across India with flag hoisting and cultural programmes, but the parade in Delhi remains the main attraction. While many people choose to watch the event on television, thousands are expected to attend the parade in person to witness the celebrations along Kartavya Path.
To ensure safety, spectators will not be allowed to carry sharp or pointed objects such as knives, scissors, nail clippers or blades. Items like cigarettes, bidis, gutkha, tobacco products and liquor bottles are also prohibited inside the parade area.
In addition, lighters, matches and other flammable materials are banned, along with large bags or backpacks. Food and drinks are generally not permitted, and drones, professional cameras and recording equipment are also restricted. Authorities have advised ticket holders to carefully read instructions printed on their tickets, as rules may vary slightly each year due to security considerations.
